If I run everyday, along with eating a healthy well-rounded diet, will I be able to slim down?

I like to run in the mornings before breakfast, of course I eat a banana right when I wake up. Now, If I continue to do this, along with eating a healthy diet, will I be able to get rid of my tummy? I heard that running helps burn lots of calories and if you continue to burn calories, the body will find spots to target itself (eventually being your stomach). Will I be able to lose my tummy if I continue to do this?

when you push through the pain barrier you will start to burn up your fat reserves so you need to make sure you do enough exercise
