How to Select Among Different Archery Quivers
As a target shooter or a hunter , it is imperative to give your equipment the utmost care it deserves. This is where archery quivers come in handy. Their purpose is not only to store your most valuable arrows you also give yourself some protection as well as the people around you from harm or injury. Quivers have been traditionally made of leather, wood, furs, bark and other natural materials.
The first thing to consider when selecting a quiver is the type. There are some that you can attach to your hip as a belt. A hip quiver is favored by a lot of target shooters because they can conveniently keep their arrows by their side. If you’re into hunting though, this type may not be advisable for you because you may have a difficult time going through thick bushes. Other innovative quivers are designed for special function like speed shooting and hunting, they can be attached to the bow. A lot of archers still use the traditional ones for general arrow storage and target practice. Some bow quivers are attached permanently while others can be detached. I highly recommend the detachable ones because you can easily take away the weight from the bow before you shoot. They’re not so popular with hunters though.
Another thing to reflect about when choosing among diverse archery quivers is the size. evidently, you don’t need a big one if you do not have plenty of equipment to store. Find out first how many arrows a specific case can hold before you actually purchase one. Some quivers can hold as much as 10 while others can only hold about 4 or 5. The last thing you have to consider is the quiver’s durability and the ability to withstand extreme weather conditions. Ask your fellow archery enthusiasts if they can recommend a reliable brand for archery quivers.
